Dear Lena Dunham,
Thank you. Thank you very very much. You have created/directed and starred in a show that makes awkwardness seem normal in the most intimate ways. I don't think I have ever felt more awkward/self conscious but oh so honest about a show in a very long time, except TrueLife and that sh*t was real.
First off let me explain to some readers who do not have the luxury of HBO (thanks to my parents who I live with still) and the amazing series of shows that come from it. 'Girls' is this amazing new series, now on their second season, about a group of twenty-something girls who are living in New York City. Basically it's like Sex In The City but much more realistic and vamp up the awkward sex scenes! The show is based on Hannah, played by Lena Dunham, who is an aspiring writer that is trying to find her voice in the world all while learning what it's like to be cutoff from her parents who have supported her in NYC for the past 2 years.
Hannah (my favorite character) is basically an over dramatic writer.
Then there's Hannah's best friend Marnie, she's hot and extremely uptight.
Jessa...aka my alter ego..she's this laid back hippie from Europe who travels all over and never gives a crap.
And the best for last...Shoshanna, this girl talks like a mile a minute and probably uses the word Like over 1000x's a day. She can be socially awkward and is obsessed with the show Sex and The City. I am kinda in love with her character.
Anyways these girls encompass every awkward situation that everyone has been through and more. Girls is funny, witty, dramatic, and best of all realistic. It's a show I highly recommend any twenty something year old should watch. I'm out.
