Shows you Absolutely Need to be Watching

Sorry for my two week hiatus guys. Had some school things going on. But, important things are going on in the television world right now. Some shows are ending, some are coming back after loooong breaks, etc. I decided to do you all a favor and suggest a few shows that you probably aren't watching, but you probably should. And by probably, I mean definitely. Check your trustworthy IMDB for showtimes and networks.

Happy Endings

In its 3rd season currently, and most people still have no clue that it exists. Its been off the air since the end of January, and will return tomorrow night in a dreaded Friday night spot.

Quick synopsis: Six close friends living in Chicago, get into crazy unbelievable situations together. It definitely has some Friends undertones (they even point out which character is which Friend in an episode).

Viewing-style suggestion: Alone. Its a fast comedy. You really have to be on the top of your listening game to catch a lot of the jokes. But they are all worth it.

I have the first two seasons on DVD if anyone wants to borrow/host a viewing party. I'd be cool with that.

Suburgatory

Doing pretty well in it's second season, this comedy has a fantastic cast (including SNL alums Ana Gastayer and Chris Parnell), and the characters' quips are just as great as the one-liners they deliver.

Quick Synopsis: Father/daughter New-York natives George and Tessa adjust to suburban CULTure in ritzy East Chatswin.

Viewing-style suggestion: Really, anyway is acceptable. I watch it with my family when I'm home, and then we constantly quote it for a few days after.

My all-time favorite character on this show is Dalia. Her monotonous idiotic tendencies get the Stark Stamp of Approval for TV Characters (a coveted accomplishment).

Mad Men

Are you kidding me? You aren't watching Mad Men? What is wrong with you? Go into a Netflix hibernation for the next week and watch all 5 seasons before the sixth one starts Sunday April 7th.

Quick Synopsis: A look into the lives of advertising execs in the 1960's. And Jon Hamm. Nuff said.

Viewing-style suggestion: In a smoke filled room surrounded by alcohol. If that's not available, watching with some friends will suffice.

I'm actually watching Mad Men while I write this. And I keep losing my train of thought because of it. It's that good of a show.

Parks and Recreation

Honestly the best comedy on television right now. Each episode gets funnier and funnier. I am slowly convincing people to watch it.

Quick Synopsis: Leslie Knope, deputy director of the Parks department in Pawnee, Indiana and her rag-tag crew of government employees work to make the town a better place. Except for Ron. He doesn't do much.

Viewing-style suggestion: Watch with 1-2 friends so you can compare the characters to people you know in real life. They all will remind you of someone. I promise.

Plus, the theme song in the intro is described as "triumphant music." You can't beat that.

I too am an aspiring blog writer but I'm still new to everything.

Do you have any tips for newbie blog writers?
    I'd certainly appreciate it.
