Peace, Love, Keith

I have always had a strange obsession with Keith Richards. I read his autobiography a couple of years ago and it was fantastic. I mean, who knows if any of it is true. We all know the past 40+ years have been a drug-induced blur for Mr. Richards. True or not, he is an amazing storyteller.

I really don't know why I like him so much. I guess it's his impeccable guitar playing. Or his overall bad ass attitude. Or the fact he fell out of a coconut tree several years ago and when asked what happened, his rep had no comment. Or maybe it's his amazing wardrobe.

My friend, Colleen, recently told me that I dress like a rocker. Best compliment ever.  As strange as it may sound, Keith Richards is one of my fashion icons. I've been told my trademark is my Ray-Ban aviators that I practically sleep in. I bought those sunglasses in 2008 because of Keith. I also blame my love of scarves and leopard print on Keith.

Last weekend, I bought a pair of funky pants from Banana Republic. There were originally $90, but were on sale for 40 doll hairs. Is that why I bought them? Nope. I bought them because they look like something Keith Richards would wear. Seriously, that's what I told my mom. Ask her.

It's pretty easy to modernize his look and add some feminine touches. Just stay away from needles and spoons.

Basically, what I'm saying is, put down the Vogue and listen to some vinyl. You never know where you will find fashion inspiration.

On the topic of The Rolling Stones, I would like to add that I've always said that I dance like Mick Jagger. Way before Maroon 5 came out with that song. Because I dance just like this and it's awkward:

*Fun fact: I used to play my drums with this song when I was 10.

Bott out.
